Informatics solutions & consulting
The people at Sinq have built many advanced microscopy systems - from automated stereology solutions to confocal & multiphoton in-vivo imaging. With a background in engineering and informatics on top of neuroscience expertise, these solutions often include custom design and programming - for applications such as automated stage control, feature recognition/4D alignment, and measurement of morphological characteristics or protein levels.
Analysis tools
Over the years, we have developed a comprehensive toolbox for hardware-software integration and quantitative image analysis which interface with public-domain software (e.g., ImageJ) and/or commercial visualization and analysis packages (e.g., Imaris, Amira, MATLAB). This toolbox and our expertise can help you rapidly design custom analyses - freeing you and your lab's time for the important biological questions.
Stereology and imaging systems
We are happy to come to you and help build solutions within your laboratory - training scientists and technicians in all aspects of quantitative microscopy techniques. Several of our customers have first used our stereology services to collect robust data & have then decided to develop the same in their own labs. With insight into the basic science questions, sample preparation, technical details of in-vivo imaging, and broad knowledge of quantitative techniques, we offer a comprehensive path bringing new techniques into your research.
Informatics R&D
Quantitative techniques in stereology and other fields are not static. We are currently in the process of expanding our informatics solutions. Areas of current research:
- Automated recognition of subcellular protein localization (e.g., within dendrites & spines)
- Analysis of 2nd-order parameters - e.g., distribution & clustering of activated neurons
- Tracking of process movement over time
Contact us if you are interested in applying these techniques in your lab. We also welcome new collaborative partners from academia and industry.
