Sinq provides rigorous quantification of neural structure, and we develop automated tools for understanding the neural basis of cognition. We provide stereology services and consulting, and have research and development at the interface between biology and informatics.
Stereology Services
Stereology is the leading method for efficient and accurate quantification of biological structures (see here for a description of the methods). We combine the necessary expertise in neuroanatomy with rigorous mathematical methods and computerized microscopy to provide you with robust data on structural parameters such as neuron number or fiber length.
Consulting
Setting up stereology or new imaging techniques in your laboratory? We offer on-site training courses, study design and equipment specification. Whether for a one-day workshop or ongoing collaboration, contact us to arrange the best solution for your needs.
R & D
We are working to help efficiently answer the more complex questions in neuroscience by expanding quantitative techniques, automating recognition of structural and functional parameters, and using informatics strategies for analysis of large datasets. The end goal is to interface with genomics and anatomy database initiatives and provide functional maps of brain activation.
